Twitter, Twitter Everywhere

Twitter

Have you heard of Twitter? Do you know what it is? Are you using Twitter?

I started using Twitter earlier this summer and quite honestly I didn’t really “get it”. At first, it seemed like a gigantic waste of time. Besides, I was getting TMI (too much information) about several of the people I was following. Slowly, I began to appreciate the simple elegance of this application. For me, it is a cross between Instant Messaging and writing my Blog. Yet, the IM has the potential of going to hundreds or thousands of followers instead of just one friend.

Twitter taps into our human desire to connect and do business with people we know. The 140 character Tweet (Twitter message) is not only a easy way to introduce yourself and your services but do so in a very personal way by answering the question, “what are you doing now?”

It was through my use of Twitter that I came across Joel Comm who has written a wonderful FREE guide “Twitter Secrets: How Short Messages Make a Big Difference to Your Business”. In 32 pages, Joel covers everything from describing what Twitter is and ow it works to using Twitter for team building, connecting with customers, building your brand, and using followers as a “help desk.”

I am not only “hooked” but convinced that Twitter has legitimate business value for any agency interested in leveraging the power of social media to grow their business. Here is the link to Twitter.
