Agency Websites and Facebook Fan Pages
OK – this is an experiment. I put my Flip Video Camera on a desktop tripod and produced my first video blog post. Clearly, not Hollywood. Yet, I wanted to go prove to myself how easy it is to create a video post. The whole process took me about 10 minutes. Yep, it is easy and I plan on doing more of these in the future. What a great way for agencies to deliver content to their followers – Website or Facebook. Here is a link to an agent doing just that. Click Here

Excellent job, Rick! Be careful – video can become addicting
Keep up the great work and I’ll look forward to meeting you soon!

Keep spreading the word Rick, love the message you’re sharing with agents. The challenge will be whether insurance-related videos can be made compelling enough to enagage people and inspire them to share, but it’s definitely NOT to be ignored.
PS – Consider a catchy sign-off to your videos. Maybe something like, “Thanks for tuning in, this has been another motivational Morgan minute.”

Great post- thanks for taking the leap if just to illustrate how relatively easy video has become. We’re slowing inching toward that direction here at MAIA, and I think there is a lot of potential for agencies who want to “break the mold”.
I’m looking forward to attending a session you are doing IIABANY next month. Thanks again.

Great start at using video on the blog Rick! Good quality- both video and audio. This is an idea we have been kicking around for awhile and really want to get started with it this year. Keep up the good work!

Rick, Homerun in your first at-bat. Love the video technically and the material is wonderful. Vlogging (Video Blogging) is something that I have wanted to get into for a while but have not made happen yet.
Thanks,

Rick, seeing this was perfect timing for me. I just finalized my 2010 Marketing Plans and agency video is on my top priority list for spring 2010. Can’t wait to “humanize” the agency with a new video clip! Your video was very motivating.

Great post! The agency I work for has transitioned most of its client’s websites into CMS (content management system) programs like WordPress. We’ve found that it is mutually beneficial. I think that freelancers and new agencies, who don’t have a website, could definitely benefit from creating their website in a CMS program. It gives them the flexibility to create a customized website, update it with ease and add free plug-ins to cater to all their needs – all without the help of a professional coder. Great advice!

Great video. I just purchased my own Flip video and LOVE it! I’ve used it in a series of online insurance courses I am developing as a way to give students a twist on simply reading a lecture. Now, students can listen to the lecture in what I am hoping is a more personal delivery method of information. Of course I am no George Lucas and the conversion and upload of the material was certainly a challenge but now that I have it partially figured out, I am anxious to try it on my own website (and future Facebook page). Again, thanks for the information. I will check back often for updates!
